I'm currently an ipowerweb customer but not likely for much longer. I just have a simple friends and family site along and use my domain as my primary email account. My email keeps getting bounced for coming from a blacklisted server. In the past I’d contact ipowerweb and they’ll move my account to a different server and things would be fine again for a few months, but now each move seems to bring more restrictions than the last, and they seem to have no desire to do what it takes to get their servers removed from the blacklists. If you’re looking for web hosting and rely on email I’d look elsewhere.

In November, iPowerweb renewed my website without my authorization for two years at $166. When I saw the charge on my credit card on December 5, I called immediately to cancel. After two attempts and waiting a total of an hour and ten minutes, I was told I would receive a full refund.
On December 22, I only received a credit of $126.80, and called back today to try and get the remainder of the credit. The first time I waited twenty minutes, was told by the girl than answered that it was a fee for registering the domain name. When I told her that I did not want the domain name she said she had to go and talk to her supervisor, she came back and said it was the initial setup fee. I told her that there should have been a set up fee two years ago when I first registered, but how could I be charged a setup fee when I didn''t want the account "setup" again. She said she would talk to her supervisor again, then I was disconnected.
The second time I called today, I waited another 15 minutes and I spoke to someone (Jose) who (after speaking with a supervisor) told me it was a non refundable set up fee (39.20). When I asked to speak to his supervisor he told me to hold on, then came back to the phone and told me that there was no supervisor there.
I called back to see if I could get the phone number for the corporate office and was told there wasn''t one.
I made a last attempt to contact them, waited 30 minutes and was disconnected by the service representative.
CHARGE-BACK COMPLETE - BBB NOTIFIED
BOY I FEEL BETTER NOW!!!

At one point I had almost 50 site at Ipowerweb, but currently have none. In my email box as I type is a renewal notice on an account I've cancelled twice now. They will charge my credit card regardless of what I do at this point, they've done that before on cancelled accounts, and it will take me 15-30 days to get my money back, and at least 3 calls, where their shortest waiting time is 45 minutes.

This is not an ethical company. Big is definitely not better. Customer service is horrendous, billing is downright criminal, and their infrastructure can't handle any real bumps in the internet.

Held hostage through Ipowerweb the minute you sign up with them is your credit card number, you domain name, and you ability to do business. It takes little or no justification for them to shut you down or charge you for services they are unauthorized to charge for.

When choosing a host there are several important things to require, that Ipowerweb is incable of delivering. Customer support, honest billing services, and reasonable server loads are totally outside the realm of Ipowerweb's business capabilities.
